"A Toy Never Played With Is Not a Toy at All"

Even Stan likes it.

Everything is Sumo....

Now if only he could grade papers!

The eternally moving "object of view" at Club 13 these days. A few recent highlights: Sumo "in the hood..." Yes, he loves being up in the air, whether riding in my down hoodie, or on Drew's shoulder, or just being babied. Note also moments of near detente w/Stan...

Mt. Washington Redux: July 4th, 2008

Unlike our previous visit (wind gusts to 50 mph, visibility 35 ft.), this was a flawlessly clear day--a view of five states, and an unnerving view, too, of just how high up we were riding...

Like all intrepid tourists, we cannot resist being photographed at the summit: "I claim this mountaintop!"

At the top of the mountain: the Weather Observatory, the famous and picturesque train (Drew talking to engineer) and Marty, the Observatory cat!

Here Drew prepares the bike for the brake-punishing trip back down the mountain.

New Year, New Job

Lots going on and I have no images handy to express the way I'm feeling, so fall back on Buff Beauty--one of my favorite roses--with a color as changeable and hard to articulate as my mood.

Second Annual Club 13 Holiday Open House

The house was packed on Friday night for our Second Annual Holiday Open House. These photographs give you a taste of the commeraderie, laughter and good eats--but for the total experience, there was no substitute for Being There: the women were beautiful, the men were--witty and handsome, I think, the punch was extremely punchy, cries of "I hate rabbits!" echoed from the back deck and, needless to say, none who witnessed it will soon forget Drew and Doug's late-night interpretive dance rendition of "Peace Dog."
The Glitterati gather: Terry Woods, Pam Brawner, Doug and Deborah, Laura Seville

Austin with mechanical mouse and with Mom

Terry and Dave (Twist of Faite) drop by with friend Teresa.

Cathy and Sharon appresciate the Seville gift of gab...
Bryan's dashing 'stash is a chick magnet.

Drew with bretheren-in-arms Mike, Stu, Don and Rick

He's a bruiser, but he IS almost fifteen: Stan crashes halfway through the party.

Outside, by the firepit, smokers gather for warmth: comrades in nicotine Deborah, Dennette (I know I'm spelling her name wrong!!!), Laura and Paul (Yes that's Drew and no, he does not smoke)

The Last Revelers, 2 A.M.: Greg, Kip, Sherri and Drew
After the last guest has escaped into the darkness, Stan reclaims his chair; gargoyle watches over the Christmas tree...
